In the first days of work in the office an EMS volunteer will be constantly supported by the project coordinator (supervisor). In the process of education, as well as in his free time a volunteer will be supported by his mentor.

The EVS projects will take place in St-Petersburg’s office of Mir Tesen located in very centre of the City. The environment gives both the best and worse sides of life in the city. There are 3 offices, one meeting room, kitchen, lavatory and shower. It is situated in the historical and cultural centre . The volunteer will use a computer provided by organization. The office is well accessible by local transport.

VOLUNTEER PROFILES AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

The profiles of volunteers: A main criterion is strong motivation to take part in activities of our organisation. As the work in the office is based on everyday meeting people we would appreciate a person with good communication skills (bases of Russian are welcomed), open minded, with strong affiliation to people and willingness to help them. A volunteer should be able to work independently as well as in a team and he/she should also be able to engage in own projects on his/her own responsibility. Some knowledge or experience with volunteering and work in NGO is welcome. As the St-Petersburg’s office is very much involved in Development Education Issues, we would also find suitably to host someone with interest or experience in this field. We would be happy to host volunteers whose main interest is in the project itself, not mainly in the attractiveness of living in St-Petersburg.
He/She should be responsible, patient, positive, open-minded, flexible, friendly, helpful, and warm-hearted, preferably with some knowledge of English.
Representatives from Russian-speaking minority groups from EU countries are welcome.
